By creating a mini greenhouse for a seedling to germinate and grow, students will explore how light waves can physically interact with the natural world and see the stages of their plant as it develops. From there they will learn how sound waves come from everywhere and how our friend the bee both creates sound and helps plants live! This will be done by building their very own buzzing bee, providing students with an encompassing experience in light, sound, and plant science!

Grade 3: Science and Technology

  demonstrate an understanding of light and sound as forms of energy that have specific characteristics and properties
